Vancouver Chapter

2012 - 2013 Chapter of Excellence Goals

Each year, the Executive Council establishes goals for the chapter year.
These goals are designed not only to grow our chapter, but also to
provide opportunities for our members to participate and grow as
individuals. Chapter President Elizabeth Faber, CAP-OM invites you to
join her in this ambitious project by identifying potential sponsors, selling
ad space on the website and/or The Link, recruiting new members, and
volunteering for committees and/or standing for office.

IAAP Vancouver Chapter is a strong and vibrant chapter, but it takes all
of us to keep it a Chapter of Excellence!

Vancouver Chapter History

The Vancouver Chapter was chartered on May 17, 1958 with 14 Charter Members. We are one of the largest chapters in the association, and the second largest in Canada:

The Vancouver Chapter prides itself on its professionalism, commitment to quality programs and professional development. The majority of our meetings offer recertification points, which is required every five years.

We have a long-standing tradition of participating at the district and division levels of IAAP. A number of Western Canada Division officers, past and present, hail from the Vancouver Chapter. As well, Barb Horton, CAP served as Past International President in 2008-2009.

We were pleased to sponsor the Fraser Valley Chapter, covering the Lower Mainland, which chartered on December 16th, 2009. As President Deborah Gomersall said at the time, "Our first meeting was in October [2009] and from there the response and enthusiasm of administrative professionals in the Fraser Valley was amazing - allowing us to charter a month ahead of schedule. I believe this may be a first, chartering a chapter just after two months of meetings - an incredible accomplishment."
